The development, approved under application reference PL/2025/07598, will see 416 ground-mounted solar panels and an associated electrical enclosure installed at Pythouse Farm near Tisbury.
Planning documents submitted to Wiltshire Council said the proposal was designed to provide renewable energy generation while limiting the visual impact on the surrounding countryside.
West Tisbury Parish Council had previously backed the scheme following a site visit by councillors, who said they were satisfied with the proposals and the planned landscaping measures around the site.
Published consultation documents stated that new hedgerow planting would be added along the western edge of the field to help screen the solar panels from nearby views.
Wiltshire Council’s highways department also submitted comments during the consultation process before planners reached their decision.
The application was determined through the council’s delegated planning powers rather than being referred to a planning committee.
Further details of the approved application are available on the Wiltshire Council planning portal.
