Contractors moved onto the site from Monday 13th April, with the project set to replace the existing equipment with modern, upgraded facilities designed to create a more exciting space for children of all ages.
The refurbishment is expected to take between eight and ten weeks, meaning the new-look park could be ready just in time for the summer holidays.
During the works, most of the play area will be closed. However, the popular slide under the trees and the nearby skatepark will remain open for residents to continue using.
As part of the improvements, exercise equipment currently at Bonnymead will be relocated and reinstalled at Lords Walk, helping to reuse and recycle existing facilities. Some minor disruption is expected in that area while the installation takes place.
Amesbury Town Council has apologised for any temporary inconvenience and says it is looking forward to officially opening the upgraded park later this summer.
Once complete, the new play park is expected to become a key destination for local families - offering a fresh, modern space for children to play, explore and enjoy the warmer months ahead.
