If you'd like to see one of your pupil's designs become a real-life bus rear or read their winning poem on stage at our electric bus launch, read on!
To welcome our new fleet of 30 electric double and single decker buses, we're excited to launch a competition to give local primary schools the chance to be part of a special launch event.
Salisbury Reds and Wiltshire Council have, together, made a significant investment of more than £15m in our new zero emission electric buses for Salisbury and the surrounding areas.
This, alongside funding from the Government’s Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) 2 scheme, is allowing us to bring 30 brand new UK-build electric buses to the region - 18 double deckers and 12 single deckers. The new vehicles will join the three single decker buses which already serve park & ride here.
We would like primary schools to be involved in the future of bus travel in Salisbury - so we are launching a competition, giving them the chance to be part of our launch event in Market Square on Friday 20 March.
How to enter
We'd love for local school children to write a poem about why electric buses are so important for the future of travel. Any budding artists at primary school can also get involved by coming up with a design to promote these zero emission buses.
Entries should be submitted by Wednesday 11 March - with winning schools notified on Friday 13 March.
