Pitton Post Office reopens at new location within community shop

Residents in Pitton will continue to have access to Post Office services following the opening of a new branch at Pitton Community Shop & Post Office on White Hill.

The new Post Office is located at Pitton Community Shop, White Hill, Pitton, Salisbury, SP5 1DU, approximately 290 metres from the previous branch on High Street.

The move follows the resignation of the previous postmaster, with the former premises at High Street, Pitton, Salisbury, SP5 1DQ, withdrawn from Post Office use on 28 September 2026.

A newly appointed postmaster is now running the Post Office service from within Pitton Community Shop, providing residents with continued access to the same range of Post Office products and services.

The Post Office serving point is located at the retail counter of the community shop, allowing customers to access services alongside the shop's convenience store facilities.

The new branch will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 12 noon. The opening hours provide a total of 43 hours of Post Office service each week.

The Post Office said the new location has been chosen to maintain the service within the local community and is close to the former branch.

Giles Hewson, Post Office Retail Change Lead, said: "We know how important a Post Office is to a community and we are delighted that we have re-opened a replacement branch at this nearby location."

Customers visiting the new branch will find a wide entrance door and level access at the premises. Inside, facilities include a hearing loop, a low-level serving counter and space for wheelchair users.

Roadside parking is available nearby, although the Post Office notes that the route from the previous branch covers approximately 290 metres of varied terrain.

The move also means customers can continue to combine Post Office visits with shopping at Pitton Community Shop, which provides convenience store facilities at the same location.

The new Pitton Post Office is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, Saturday from 9am to 12 noon and is closed on Sundays.

The Post Office said the same products and services previously available to customers will continue to be offered from the new location.
