Trowbridge Woman Charged with Multiple Offences Following TG Jones Theft Investigation

A 37-year-old woman from Trowbridge has been charged with several offences following an investigation by Wiltshire Police, including an alleged theft from a local shop.

Olivia Osborne, of Rutland Crescent, Trowbridge, has been charged with theft from a shop, specifically TG Jones in Trowbridge, following the police investigation.

She also faces charges of possessing Class A and Class B drugs, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.

Osborne has been bailed to appear before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 4 January 2027, where the charges are due to be dealt with.

The case highlights the importance of reporting suspected shoplifting and other offences to the police, allowing officers to investigate incidents and take appropriate action.

Trowbridge Neighbourhood Sergeant Charly Chilton said Wiltshire Police takes reports of shoplifting very seriously.

“I want to reassure the public that we take reports of shoplifting very seriously,” Sergeant Chilton said.

She encouraged local businesses affected by shoplifting to report incidents to the police so that they can be investigated.

“I encourage any local businesses who are victims to this type of offence to always report it to us so we can investigate and take action,” she added.

Shoplifting can have a significant impact on local retailers, with businesses facing financial losses and the additional costs associated with security and preventing further incidents.

Wiltshire Police continues to encourage businesses to report suspected offences, providing officers with information that may assist investigations and help address crime in local communities.

The charges against Osborne remain allegations, and she is entitled to a fair hearing. The court will consider the case when she appears in January.

The case serves as a reminder for businesses in Trowbridge and across Wiltshire to report suspected retail crime and work with police to help tackle offending.
