Salisbury Fire Station welcomed the local community for an open day, bringing together firefighters, community groups and local organisations for a day of activities and support.

Tom Corbin and I decided to "gatecrash" the open day and were delighted to have the opportunity to speak with the different groups involved in making the event a success.

The event provided a chance for visitors to meet members of the fire service, learn more about their work and see the important role emergency services play in the local community.

There was also plenty of opportunity for some lighter moments during the visit. Another firefighter's hat was found, although unfortunately it turned out to be a little too small for the occasion or, more accurately, the head was too big!

The open day highlighted the strong relationship between Salisbury Fire Station and the wider community, with local groups coming together to support the event.

Events like this also provide an important opportunity for residents to learn more about fire safety, meet emergency service teams and understand the work that goes on behind the scenes.

Tom and I were pleased to be able to attend and show our support for Salisbury Fire Station and everyone involved.

It was a great day, with plenty of friendly conversations, community spirit and a reminder of the important work carried out by firefighters every day.
