Fireworks displays set to light up Salisbury and Thruxton on Saturday 7 November
Two fireworks events are taking place in Salisbury and Thruxton on 7 November, supporting Salisbury Hospice and Andover Foodbank.
Families across Salisbury, Amesbury and the wider Wiltshire and Hampshire area will have the chance to enjoy two major fireworks events this weekend, with celebrations planned at Salisbury Racecourse and Thruxton Circuit.
Both events will take place on Saturday, 7 November 2026, offering an evening of fireworks, music and family entertainment, while also raising money for local charities.
Salisbury Racecourse fireworks to support Salisbury Hospice
Salisbury Racecourse, at Netherhampton, will host its annual fireworks event, with entertainment provided by Salisbury Radio.
The event will run from 5.30pm until 8.30pm, with gates opening at 5.30pm. Families can enjoy a children's disco between 6.15pm and 7pm, followed by music featuring hits from the 1980s and 1990s.
The main fireworks display is scheduled for 7.30pm, lasting until approximately 7.45pm. Music will then continue until 8.30pm.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a selection of local food vendors, including Greek Gringo, Chicken Gringo, Bratwurst, toasties, pizza and jacket potatoes. Bars will serve alcoholic, soft and hot drinks until 8pm.
The event will once again support Salisbury Hospice, helping the charity raise vital funds to provide care and support for patients and their families across Wiltshire and parts of Hampshire and Dorset.
Organisers are advising visitors to plan their journeys in advance, as the event is expected to be busy.
Car parking must be booked in advance alongside event tickets. Anyone without a pre-booked parking space will need to use the park and ride service from Wilton Park and Ride.
Buses will leave Wilton every 15 minutes between 5pm and 7pm, with return services operating from the racecourse every 15 minutes between 8pm and 9pm.
Further information and tickets are available on the Salisbury Racecourse website.
Thruxton Glitter & Glow Firework Festival supporting Andover Foodbank
Meanwhile, Thruxton Circuit, near Andover, will welcome visitors for its Glitter & Glow Firework Festival, promising an evening of fireworks, a traditional bonfire and entertainment for all ages.
Gates are scheduled to open at 4.30pm, with the main fireworks display expected at 7pm.
The programme will include a funfair, children's disco, live DJ, food and drink stalls, market stalls and the colourful Technicolour Tractor Trail.
The tractor trail is scheduled to make its first appearance at 5.40pm, with a second appearance planned for later in the evening.
The festival will also raise funds for Andover Foodbank, supporting its work helping individuals and families experiencing financial hardship in the local community.
Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £5 for children aged five to 15. Children under five can attend free of charge, but a free child ticket must still be booked.
The event is scheduled to close at 8.30pm.
Visitors can find further details and purchase tickets through the Thruxton Circuit website.
Two opportunities to enjoy Bonfire Night celebrations
With both events taking place on the same evening, residents across the region will have two opportunities to enjoy a night of fireworks and family entertainment while supporting important local charities.
Whether heading to Salisbury Racecourse in support of Salisbury Hospice or visiting Thruxton to help raise funds for Andover Foodbank, organisers are encouraging visitors to book their tickets in advance and check travel arrangements before setting off.
