Three teenagers have been arrested after a couple were allegedly attacked by a group of youths at a taxi rank in Salisbury.

Wiltshire Police said officers were called at around 11.15pm on Monday following reports that a man and woman in their 40s had been assaulted.

The couple managed to get into a taxi after the initial incident, but police said they were then attacked again by the group and suffered injuries.

Three teenagers have since been arrested as part of the investigation.

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, criminal damage and affray.

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) and affray.

A 16-year-old boy has also been arrested on suspicion of threats to kill.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that two of the teenagers remain in custody, while one has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Anyone who was in the area around the Salisbury taxi rank at the time of the incident, or who may have mobile phone footage or other information, is asked to contact Wiltshire Police.

The force said the investigation remains ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
