Police Increase Patrols Around Harvard Park in Amesbury Ahead of Halloween
Amesbury Police are increasing patrols around Harvard Park during half-term, Halloween and Bonfire Night following reports of vandalism, verbal abuse and anti-social behaviour.
Amesbury Police are increasing patrols around Harvard Park during the autumn half-term, Halloween and Bonfire Night following reports of anti-social behaviour affecting local residents.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team is asking parents, carers and guardians to help prevent further incidents and ensure young people behave safely and respectfully in the community.
According to Amesbury Police, officers and the Town Council have recently received reports of behaviour causing harassment, alarm and distress to residents in and around Harvard Park.
The reported incidents include vandalism, verbal abuse and large gatherings that have left some people feeling intimidated.
With schools on their autumn half-term break and Halloween and Bonfire Night approaching, police are taking additional steps to address the concerns and prevent further problems.
In response, officers will carry out increased patrols throughout the half-term period and over Halloween and Bonfire Night.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team said it continues to work closely with partner agencies, housing providers and youth services to tackle anti-social behaviour and take appropriate action where necessary.
However, police have emphasised that prevention remains a priority and that families have an important role to play in helping to address the issue.
Parents and guardians are being encouraged to know where their children are, who they are spending time with and what they are doing, particularly during the evenings.
Police say that working together with families and the wider community can help prevent young people from becoming involved in behaviour that could lead to enforcement action or have longer-term consequences.
The appeal comes as communities prepare for Halloween celebrations and Bonfire Night, when increased activity in public spaces can sometimes lead to concerns about anti-social behaviour.
Residents are being encouraged to support efforts to keep the area safe and welcoming for everyone, while ensuring that young people can enjoy the school holidays responsibly.
Amesbury Police thanked parents, carers and guardians for their support and urged the community to work together to ensure everyone can enjoy the coming weeks safely.
