Halo: Campaign Evolved early access begins as fans return to the legendary ring

The next chapter in the Halo franchise has arrived, with fans getting their first chance to experience Halo: Campaign Evolved through early access. The highly anticipated return brings players back to one of gaming's most iconic sci-fi adventures with updated visuals, new features and a modernised experience.

Early access began on 23 July 2026 for players who pre-ordered the Premium Edition, allowing them to enter the world of Alpha Halo before the full release. The game will officially launch on 28 July 2026 across supported platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Halo: Campaign Evolved reimagines the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign while keeping the story that introduced players to Master Chief and the battle against the Covenant. The new version includes rebuilt graphics, improved audio, updated cinematics, campaign enhancements and new ways to experience the classic adventure.

One of the biggest additions is expanded co-op support, allowing players to experience the campaign together with up to four-player cross-platform co-op. Fans can also discover new challenges, collectibles and gameplay options designed to offer something new for both longtime players and newcomers.

Players who purchased early access editions can begin downloading the game through supported platforms, while Game Pass subscribers will gain access when the full launch arrives.

The return of Halo comes at an important moment for the franchise, with Microsoft and Halo Studios looking to bring back the excitement that made the series one of the biggest names in gaming history.
