A 57-year-old man from Swindon has pleaded guilty to multiple sexual offences involving two young female victims, with the abuse dating back more than two decades.

Terry Edwards, of Wells Street, Swindon, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on November 3, 2026, where he admitted three counts of indecent assault, the offence name used at the time the offences took place.

The offences involved two young female victims and occurred between 1995 and 2001.

Edwards, who is a registered sex offender and has previously been convicted of indecently exposing himself, also admitted breaching the notification requirements associated with his sex offender registration.

Following his guilty pleas, Edwards was remanded into custody ahead of sentencing, which is scheduled for January 21, 2027.

PC Katie Owers, who is based within Wiltshire Police's Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team, described the case as an awful example of historic sexual abuse.

She said Edwards had sexually abused two young girls who were known to him.

PC Owers also praised the courage of the victims, recognising the significant trauma they had experienced and the strength they had shown throughout the investigation.

She said their cooperation had helped secure Edwards' convictions.

The officer also encouraged anyone who may have experienced similar offences to come forward, regardless of how long ago the abuse happened.

She emphasised that victims would be listened to, taken seriously and supported by police.

Wiltshire Police said it would continue investigating reports of historic sexual abuse and working to bring offenders to justice.

Edwards remains in custody and is due to be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on January 21, 2027.
