New WhatsApp features make it easier to stay connected across devices
WhatsApp introduces new features including iPad account setup, improved CarPlay support, PDF editing and music sharing to make communication easier.
WhatsApp is introducing a range of new features designed to make the messaging app work better with the way people communicate, travel and manage their daily lives.
Meta said the latest updates are focused on making WhatsApp more flexible across different devices, improving integration with everyday technology and giving users more ways to share content.
One of the biggest changes is the ability to create a WhatsApp account directly on an iPad without needing to link it to a phone first. The update means iPad users can set up their account directly through the app, making it easier for people who mainly use tablets for communication.
WhatsApp is also improving its experience inside cars with upgraded support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drivers will be able to manage messages, make calls, view call history and access favourite contacts more easily while keeping their attention on the road.
Another new feature allows users to work with PDF files directly inside WhatsApp. Users can open documents without leaving the app and make simple edits such as highlighting and adding notes through desktop and web versions.
Music sharing is also getting an update, with users now able to share songs from services such as Apple Music and Spotify directly to their WhatsApp Status. Friends and contacts will be able to see what music someone is listening to and discover new songs through shared updates.
The updates reflect WhatsApp’s wider strategy of becoming more than just a messaging app. With people using the platform for work, family conversations, entertainment and business, Meta is continuing to expand features across phones, tablets, computers and connected devices.
WhatsApp remains one of the world’s most popular communication platforms, and these changes are designed to make switching between devices and sharing everyday moments simpler for millions of users.
