Three youths arrested following assault in Salisbury

Three teenagers have been arrested after a couple were allegedly attacked by a group of youths at a taxi rank in Salisbury.

Wiltshire Police said officers were called at around 11:15pm on Monday 6 July following reports that a man and woman in their 40s had been assaulted. The couple were followed to the taxi rank by a group of youths before being attacked.

The victims managed to get inside a taxi, but police said the group continued the assault, causing injuries to both individuals. Officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with mobile phone footage or other information that could help the investigation.

Three young people have since been arrested as part of the investigation. A 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and affray. A 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH) and affray, while a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that two of the youths remain in custody while one has been released on bail as further enquiries continue.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area, or has relevant video footage to come forward.
