Wiltshire secure silverware at police golf Finals
The Wiltshire golf team narrowly missed out on winning the Police Golf Finals but did not come home empty-handed.
On 29 July, the team travelled to Formby Golf Club in Southport, Merseyside, a course ranked among the top 20 in England.
Wiltshire had won the South West England regional group to reach the final, where they faced South East winners Essex, North East winners South Yorkshire and North West winners Merseyside.

This was Wiltshire's first appearance in the finals for 20 years. They played Merseyside in the morning semi-final, which saw some excellent golf from both teams, but it was Merseyside who emerged victorious.
Wiltshire therefore progressed to the third and fourth-place play-off for the Shaw Trophy, where they faced Essex Police, who had also lost their morning semi-final.
It was another closely contested fixture, but this time Wiltshire secured victory on aggregate score. It was a fantastic result and saw the team bring home some silverware for their efforts.
Merseyside went on to beat South Yorkshire in the afternoon final to become the Police Sport UK Golf champions on home turf.
