Two Men Arrested on Suspicion of Supplying Class A Drugs in Salisbury

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs after Wiltshire Police stopped two vehicles in Salisbury.

Officers were on patrol in the city on Monday, 31 August, when they stopped a vehicle near Southampton Road.

The 20-year-old driver was arrested after officers discovered a cigarette packet containing a number of bags filled with white powder.

Police then stopped another vehicle near Salisbury train station after identifying it as being associated with the first vehicle. The vehicle was stopped following a short pursuit.

A large amount of cash was found inside the second vehicle and the 20-year-old male driver was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

He was also arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving.

Both men have since been released on conditional bail while police continue their investigation.

They are due to remain on conditional bail until 30 November, pending further enquiries.

Wiltshire Police has not confirmed the type or quantity of suspected drugs found, and no charges have been announced at this stage.

The arrests form part of ongoing police activity to tackle suspected drug supply and related offences in Salisbury.
