Hampshire Air Festival Cancelled Days Before Thruxton Event

The Hampshire Air Festival has been cancelled just days before it was due to take place at Thruxton Aerodrome, with organisers confirming that they are taking steps to put the company behind the event into liquidation.

The inaugural festival was scheduled for Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, but Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited has now announced that the event will not go ahead.

In a statement, the company said its directors were making the announcement with “profound sadness” and were seeking independent legal and insolvency advice.

The cancellation is expected to disappoint visitors who had been planning to attend the first Hampshire Air Festival, which was due to bring an aviation event to Thruxton.

Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited has advised ticket holders to contact their debit or credit card provider directly about their purchase and discuss the options available for recovering their payment.

The company has not confirmed when any refunds will be issued or how the process will work, but has told customers to contact their card provider for further advice.

Suppliers and other stakeholders will also be contacted with further information about the liquidation process, including details of any relevant claims or enquiries.

The announcement comes shortly before the festival was due to open, leaving ticket holders and businesses involved with the event waiting for more information.

“It is with profound sadness that the directors of Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited have to announce the cancellation of the Hampshire Air Festival 2026 due to take place at Thruxton Aerodrome on 12 and 13 September.

“As a consequence, steps are being taken to put the business into liquidation with the Directors taking independent legal and insolvency advice.

“Ticket holders should contact their debit or credit card provider directly regarding their ticket purchase and to discuss the options available to them for recovering their payment.

“Suppliers and other stakeholders will be contacted with further information regarding the process and any relevant claims or enquiries.

“We are grateful to everyone who has supported the Hampshire Air Festival and Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited.”

The cancellation means the inaugural Hampshire Air Festival will not take place as planned, while the company begins the process of seeking legal and insolvency advice.
