Reading Force offers free book clubs and social sessions for military families in Tidworth
Military spouses and partners new to Tidworth, Bulford, Larkhill and surrounding areas are invited to free monthly Reading Force book club sessions.
Military spouses and partners who have recently moved to the Tidworth area are being invited to join free monthly Book Club & Chat sessions organised by Reading Force.
The sessions provide an opportunity for military families to meet new people, make friends, discover more about their local area and enjoy reading in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Taking place at The Haven Centre in Tidworth (SP9 7BT), the sessions are open to spouses and partners who have joined the area within the past 24 months of attending their first session.
With generous funding from The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, Reading Force is taking part in its Serving Families: On the Move programme, which runs until early 2028.
The programme aims to improve the quality of life for Service families affected by relocation as a result of military life.
Book Club & Chat sessions are held every month, with participants able to choose between daytime and evening meetings.
The daytime sessions take place on the second Tuesday of each month, from 11am to 1pm. Evening sessions are held on the third Friday of each month, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Military spouses and partners who are new to Tidworth Garrison, including those living in Bulford, Larkhill, Ludgershall, Netheravon and Perham Down, are welcome to attend.
All sessions are free, and members can also choose from a selection of books available at no cost, thanks to funding from The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
Reading Force says the sessions offer more than just an opportunity to enjoy a good book, helping people build friendships and feel more connected after moving to a new area.
One participant said: "I can't wait for the next meeting, absolutely loved meeting people and helped me immensely as I've just moved to the area. I also read the book in a couple of days, it was that good."
Another member described the initiative as a meaningful source of support, saying: "Thank you for investing in something that quietly but powerfully changes lives."
