Three charged in connection with Calcutt murder remanded in custody
Three people charged in connection with the murder of Jimmy Ward in Calcutt have been remanded into custody and are due to appear at Bristol Crown Court via video link.
Three people charged in connection with a murder investigation in Calcutt, Wiltshire, have appeared before magistrates and been remanded into custody.
Shane Porter, 35, of Calcutt Park, Calcutt, has been charged with the murder of Jimmy Ward, 36, as well as possession of a shotgun without a certificate.
Two other defendants, Eddie Porter, 74, and Tammy Brown, 42, both of Luton, have been charged with assisting an offender and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.
All three defendants were remanded in custody following their court appearance and are due to appear via video link at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday 7 August.
Wiltshire Police said a scene remains in place in Calcutt while officers continue their enquiries, and an increased policing presence will remain in the area as the investigation progresses.
The force has not released further details about the circumstances surrounding Jimmy Ward’s death, but detectives are continuing to gather evidence and speak to witnesses.
Residents in Calcutt can expect to see officers in the area while investigations continue, and police are asking anyone with information that could assist the inquiry to come forward.
