Braham Aissaoui jailed for violent assault on woman
A 52-year-old man from Bradford on Avon has been jailed for sexually assaulting, strangling and hitting a woman in her home.
Swindon Crown Court sentenced Braham Aissaoui, a UK national, to three years and nine months custody for the offences of intentional strangulation, assault by beating and sexual assault.
The court was told that the offences took place between 26th and 30th March this year.
Aissaoui was initially remanded in prison due to the severity of the offences and the risk he posed to the victim. On the 3rd of August 2026 he was sentenced for the offences after pleading guilty.
At the sentencing the judge also imposed a seven-year restraining order, preventing Aissaoui from contacting his victim.
OIC LCI Ange Dowsett said: “I would like to highlight the resilience and bravery of the victim in this case in reporting these offences.
“Tackling violence against women and girls in our communities is a force priority. We take all such reports extremely seriously - they will be robustly investigated and perpetrators of this violence will be brought before the courts.”
