Amesbury Library continues to be a valuable community hub, offering residents of all ages access to books, free digital resources, family activities and a welcoming space in the heart of the town.

Located on Smithfield Street, the library provides thousands of books, audiobooks and DVDs, alongside free computer access, Wi-Fi and printing services. Members can also borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines and newspapers through Wiltshire Libraries' online platforms, making it easy to enjoy reading wherever you are.

The library regularly hosts activities for children and families, including Rhymetime sessions for babies and toddlers, story times, craft workshops and the popular Summer Reading Challenge, which encourages children to keep reading throughout the school holidays with rewards and activities. The challenge is free to join and runs across Wiltshire libraries each summer.

For adults, Amesbury Library offers reading groups, IT support, access to local information and a quiet place to study or work. Friendly staff are on hand to help visitors find books, use online services or discover local history resources.

The library is also home to a growing collection of health and wellbeing books through the Reading Well programme, helping people access trusted information on topics including mental health, dementia and long-term conditions.

As part of Wiltshire Libraries, members can reserve books from libraries across the county and have them delivered to Amesbury for collection. This gives readers access to a much larger collection than is available on the shelves at any one time.

Whether you're looking for your next great read, somewhere for children to learn and play, or simply a quiet place to relax, Amesbury Library remains one of the town's most important community facilities, welcoming visitors throughout the week.
