Former home of sergei skripal in Salisbury put up for sale
The home of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal, who was poisoned in a 2018 Novichok attack, is up for sale.
The Salisbury home of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal, the site of the 2018 Novichok poisoning attack, has been placed on the market.
The three-bedroom property on Christie Miller Road, which became the focus of worldwide attention following the nerve agent attack, is now being offered for sale as a 30% shared ownership property for £114,000 in partnership with Wiltshire Council.
Mr Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, were poisoned in March 2018 after the highly toxic Novichok nerve agent was smeared on the front door handle of the house. Both survived the attack and are believed to have made a full recovery, but neither returned to live at the Salisbury property.
Following extensive decontamination work and refurbishment, the home has since been occupied by other residents. Estate agents Carter & May describe the property as having been "thoughtfully enhanced by the current vendors".
The listing includes full disclosure of the property's connection to the Novichok incident.
The 2018 attack sparked an international investigation, with Russian suspects identified by UK authorities. The Kremlin has consistently denied any involvement.
The Novichok incident later claimed the life of Dawn Sturgess, 44, from Durrington, who died after coming into contact with a discarded perfume bottle believed to have contained the nerve agent. Her partner, Charlie Rowley, was seriously ill but recovered.
Images released by the estate agent show the property featuring a modernised kitchen, solar panels and a spacious rear garden. Located around a mile from Salisbury city centre, the home is also close to local amenities.
The property listing states: "This property offers a chance for potential owners to establish their ideal family home on the outskirts of the city."
Wiltshire Council purchased the house in 2021 as part of efforts to return the property to residential use following the extensive clean-up operation.
When the property was previously marketed, it was offered under a shared ownership scheme at a fixed price of £93,750 for a 25% share. At that time, eligibility was restricted to buyers with a connection to Salisbury. Those restrictions have now been removed, opening the opportunity to a wider range of prospective buyers.
