London could be set for another spell of hot weather just days after a record-breaking June heatwave, with forecasters predicting temperatures could climb above 30C in early July.

Weather models suggest warmer conditions will begin to build across southern England during the first week of July before intensifying into what could become another multi-day heatwave. Some forecasts indicate temperatures in London may reach the low to mid-30s, with the hottest conditions expected around the second week of the month.

The capital recently experienced one of its hottest June periods on record, with temperatures soaring into the mid-30s and placing pressure on transport services, hospitals and emergency responders. Experts say another prolonged spell of hot weather could once again increase health risks, particularly for older people and those with underlying medical conditions.

Although long-range forecasts can change, meteorologists say there are growing signs that high pressure will return, bringing dry, sunny conditions across much of southern England. If temperatures remain above official thresholds for several consecutive days, the UK could experience another officially recognised heatwave.

Residents are being encouraged to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts, drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged periods in direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day and check on vulnerable friends, relatives and neighbours if another heatwave develops.
