The event was attended by more than 100 people and marked the next chapter for the charity, which provides wigs and compassionate care for people experiencing hair loss.

Founded by Molly Cook, owner of The Hair Extension Cave, OCTO supports people experiencing hair loss through chemotherapy, alopecia, medical conditions, trichotillomania, post-surgical hair loss and other causes.

The charity has donated more than 1,000 wigs to date, helping people access support in a private, dignified and welcoming setting.

More than 30 businesses supported the gala through raffle prizes, auction prizes and sponsorship, including Michelin star personal chef, Dixie Normous Drag Bingo tickets & Vita Skin Vouchers.

Molly Cook, founder of OCTO and owner of The Hair Extension Cave, said:

“I’m completely overwhelmed by the support the community has shown for OCTO. Hair loss can be a very isolating experience. It can affect how you feel when you look in the mirror, how you walk into a room and how much of yourself you feel able to show. OCTO exists to remind people that they do not have to face that alone. We provide a compassionate, judgement-free space for anyone experiencing hair loss, whatever the reason. To have more than 100 people come together and raise £10,000 for the charity means so much. This support will help us continue our work and reach more people who need privacy, dignity, care and confidence during an incredibly vulnerable time. We would also love to hear from anyone who would like to support OCTO financially, donate, volunteer or get involved with the running of the charity.”

OCTO works closely with Salisbury Hospital and in partnership with The Hair Extension Cave.
